It was May 19th, 1950 when seven men joined for the first official meeting of the Crow Wing Cooperative Rural Telephone Company, later to become Consolidated Telephone Company. After obtaining personal loans the seven directors started selling memberships to residents as part of the new cooperative. Click here to learn more about CTC.
CTC offers many services in the communities of Sullivan Lake, Randall, Pillager, Outing, Nokay Lake, Nisswa, Motley, Mission, Lincoln, Leader, Freedhem, Little Falls, Brainerd, Baxter, and Crosby. CTC also has partnerships and access to state-wide transport to work with businesses outside of these areas and to connect multi-location businesses.
With technology shaping the future of our lives, CTC is setting the standard in telecommunications for the Brainerd Lakes Area. CTC is continuing to improve and expand our rural areas by implementing new equipment and investing in a State-of-the-art fiber network to deliver higher Internet speeds and digital TV to complement our local phone service.

Each year CTC awards $500 scholarships to students in our service areas that are beginning their college careers. For more information about our scholarship program, contact Lisa or reach out to your school counselor or guidance office.
