AFFORDABLE CONNECTIVITY PROGRAM

The Affordable Connectivity Program (previously known as the Emergency Broadband Benefit) was a federal program that offered eligible households a discount on their monthly internet bill and a one-time discount off the purchase of a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet.

Unfortunately, Congress did not renew funding for this program so the ACP stopped accepting new applications and enrollments on February 7, 2024. The last fully funded month of the program was April 2024. At the time the program ended, over 23 million eligible households were enrolled and receiving the monthly discount.

We are continuing to contact our local, state, and federal legislators to encourage them to develop a long-term solution or replacement for the ACP. Everyone deserves access to high-speed, reliable internet regardless of where they live or what their household income is.

In the meantime, if you were previously enrolled in the ACP, you may be eligible for a monthly discount through Lifeline. For more information and to apply, visit: lifelinesupport.org
