Gilbert Promoted to Director of Outside Plant/MC Fiber
Steve Gilbert was recently promoted to Director of Outside Plant at Consolidated Telephone Company (CTC). Gilbert has been employed at CTC since May 2006 and has previously held the positions of Engineering Manager and Network Design Engineer.
Holding a technical degree in Electronics Engineering, Gilbert has been in the telecommunications industry since 1995, spanning a variety of jobs from construction to customer installations, to engineering.
In addition to continuing to lead the growing engineering team at CTC, Gilbert will also manage the new business venture MC Fiber, which is a Utility Service Company that is in partnership with CTC and Meeker Electric Cooperative.
MC Fiber, with its initial focus on underground fiber construction for CTC and its partners, holds immense growth potential. Its expertise in plowing, cable pulling/blowing, and directional boring for mainline and drop fiber projects set the stage for an optimistic future.
“Over the past 18 years, I have seen a lot of changes working at CTC. I have also seen a lot of new faces, challenges, opportunities and growth. I have had the distinct honor of being a part of engineering, constructing, and connecting every mile of over 5,000 miles of fiber in the CTC network. I look forward to the new challenges and exciting changes in the years to come,” said Gilbert.
